***SAFE 04/28/16***SUPER SWEET SPARROW NEEDS YOU! Meet two year old terrific grey tabby, Sparrow, yet another pregnant gal who finds her precious life in peril tonight. Sparrow came into the shelter as a stray surrender, obviously scared but allowed staff to handle her and take pix with no signs of aggression. She tolerates petting but it is recommended she goes to a home without kids. She will more than likely be spay-aborted prior to placement. Can you be the kind purrson to offer this sweetheart a chance for a happy new life by opening up your heart and home by fostering or adopting? Please contact one of our New Hope partners if you can help sweet Sparrow. Transportation is available. Email our help desk and we will lead you through the process–[email protected] and help you be Sparrow’s hero. Save a life. Make a difference.

04/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sparrow was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Sparrow makes eye contact and slow blinks near the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sparrow lies motionless with her tail curled up along her body. Reaction to cage door opening: Sparrow is alert and slowly inches away. Reaction to touch: Sparrow allows petting but seems indifferent to touch. She lip licks and slowly turns her head away. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sparrow tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
