**SAFE 08/16/16** What’s in a name? Would these three ebony babies be any more appealing if their names weren’t utterly craptastic? Meet LETTUCE, SOUR and BBQ, three 4-month-old kittens who have clearly NEVER been cared about at the ACC, whose names are among the most potent reminders of how little “care” is extended to the animals within that horrid “shelter” system. These three are all a bit freaked out in their new surroundings and they probably wonder where their friend (mom?) Leadis went….she is not listed tonight. Please look at these EXPNOCHILD-rated babies and imagine them with nice names, names that reflect that these kittens are wanted and loveable and perfect in their own way. What would YOU name them? Please work hard to ensure LETTUCE, SOUR and BBQ get NEW NAMES and happy NEW LIVES with FOSTER or ADOPTIVE homes, tonight!

08/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sour was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Sour is alert, her ears rotate and she slowly backs away climbing the kennel walls. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sour keeps her tail lowered at her side and she looks around wary of her surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Sour lies motionless and starts hissing. Reaction to touch: Sour hisses and shifts away when you extend your hand out to make contact. She tolerates petting and continues to hiss with her ears bent flat throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Sour is very tense, struggles and leaps away back into the kennel. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sour tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
