A volunteer writes: I was busy in one of the cat rooms when I thought I heard something that sounded much like a motorboat. I looked around, and this adorable little round tortie face was looking up at me, purring so loud I had heard it from quite a distance. I sat and relaxed and just enjoyed the beautiful musical ‘trills’ coming out of Sophie. I enjoyed petting her but I think she’d be every bit as happy if you just sat with or even looked over at her if you’re doing something else. Sophie has lived with three 5 year old male cats and a large German Shepherd whom she was affectionate, respectful, and tolerant of. There was also a 10 month old female cat whom apparently she wasn’t crazy about. I think at her age she’s earned the right to pick and choose a little. Definitely really loves people and attention, it’s rare that I’ve met a cat who would just purr if you were within earshot! You really should come see and hear this doll to believe her.
