I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/17/2016 from NY 10462, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER SICK.

10/17/16 19:01 Sonny is shy around strangers and mostly hides whther they are around or not. He is good with kids, he does not play with them much but respects them but will play if they have string to play with. Sonny does not like other cats, he has shared a home with one before and he hissed and raised his hackles the whole time they were together. Sonny does not scratch on furniture and uses the litter box. He allows people to trim his nails and put him into a carrier. He prefers to not be held and might struggle if picked up. Sonny has a very high level of energy when left alone with the owner. He ikes strings as his prefered toy. He is kept indoors and uses an uncovered litter box with fresh step litter. He has a carpet scratch post and eats both wet and dry food. Sonny is nervous and attempts to run for cover but allows all handling.

Reaction to assessor: Sonny looks neutral, lying down on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Sonny remains in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Sonny leans into the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Sonny interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
