SAFE 3/9/18 – Snuggles is feeling agitated here in the shelter which has resulting in tail biting behavior..she may need to be on anti-anxiety medication to help her calm down even after leaving the shelterPLEASE HELP HER TODAY!
Snuggles is approximately 2 year old, domestic short hair female who was spayed prior to coming into the shelter. She was adopted from an ACC mobile event in March 2016 and was surrendered due to the owner passing away. She has no known health issues or injuries and has not seen a vet recently.

Standing in front of kennel, body slightly tense. Vocalizes while making eye contact. She head-butts my hand as I reach towards her and allows petting along her head and body while leaning in and raising her tail. Doing well after first day!
02/23/18
Snuggle’s e-collar fell off and she was gnawing on her tail when I approached the kennel. She tenses up and vocalizes, but allows all handling. Medical checked on her later in the day an gave her a new one. She’s a little more nervous with the cone on, but eventually starts to warm up. Raises her rear and leans in when rubbed on her cheeks.

Crouched in the back of the kennel. She vocalizes and slowly shifts away from me. Hesitant initially, but opens up when pet along her body. Food motivated- enjoys party mix treats. Didn’t see her attacking/chewing on her tail today.

Standing in back of kennel, body low and tail wrapped around her. Vocalizes softly when spoken to. She allows petting along her head and body, continuing to vocalize softly and raising her rear and tail into the air each time my hand passes along her back. Sweet girl, did well today. Ate all treats given.

At front of kennel, ears forward and tail raised. Vocalizes softly and continuously. She leans in for petting once the cage door opens, purring and continuing to vocalize. Allows all petting for the duration of the session. Eats all treats given. Doing well!

Standing in front of kennel with a relaxed body, ears forward. Chirps and vocalizes. She comes forward to greet me as I open the kennel door and allows petting along her head and body while leaning in and purring. Tail raises. Allows all petting for duration of session and remains calm when picked up and held. Sweet girl, doing well!
03/1/18
Standing in kennel, body relaxed. Vocalizes, chirps and trills. Chatty and sweet, she allows all petting while leaning in and purring. I didn’t witness her biting her tail today. Ate all treats offered. Doing well!

Comes forward immediately, vocalizes and reaches out with soft paws. Very sweet, constantly meowing and chirping. Leans in for attention, allows petting all over her body. Doing well!
03/04/18
At front of kennel, chirping and vocalizing softly. Remains calm as cage door opens and greets me with a head-butt. Allows petting along head and body while leaning in and raising tail. Begins to purr and continues to chirp. Very talkative. Sweet girl, allows all petting. We removed her collar and will continue to monitor if she bites her tail or not.

Sitting in front of kennel, ears forward. Chirps and vocalizes softly. Allows all petting while leaning in and raising tail. Tail begins to wave back and forth with continued petting but offers no further reaction. Ate all treats given. Doing well! Not biting her tail during this interaction.

Within the last month or two Snuggles has been urinating outside of the litter box. She has moved to a new home with a new owner so they feel that she is adjusting to her new environment and feels the loss of her previous owner. Before this change she was very good at using her litter box properly.
Updated: Owner reported no litterbox issues.

Snuggles’ owner has not tried to bathe her or trim her nails, but she will allow the owner to brush her. She is not bothered be being picked up or carried, but will struggle to be put in a carrier.
Updated: Snuggles was very shy and did not come out during her time with her family. Snuggles also yowled at night.

Snuggles is described as being friendly, affectionate and playful. She likes to follow one of the daughters around the home and other times she keeps to herself. She has been an indoor cat, sleeps anywhere in the home and eats dry food. She likes to play with all kinds of toys and is litter box trained using both an uncovered and hooded box with clumping or crystal litter.
Behavior Notes:
Snuggles kept a low body during intake and tried to hide when taken out of the carrier. She allowed for minimal handling.

EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
H/L: Eupneic, normal RR/RE
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat, tip of tail scabbed and healing
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
