***SAFE 10/09/16*** SENIOR GAL SNOWY WANTS TO SPEND THE COLD WINTER NIGHTS SITTING BESIDE YOU AND KEEPING YOU WARM AND COZY!! SNOWY was dumped at the shelter when some family members became allergic. (cough cough) She is 10 years old and has one green eye and one blue eye!! SNOWY is friendly and allowed all handling and petting. She rocked a great AVERAGE rating for her wonderful disposition. SNOWY has been around children and was ok with them. She also is spayed and has perfect house manners. Who couldn’t love a cat like this?? SNOWY ONLY HAS TIL NOON FOR HER NEW BEST FRIEND TO ARRIVE. GIVE SNOWY A HAPPY ENDING TO HER STORY TONIGHT AND OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!!

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/01/2016 from NY 11416, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

10/3/16 Recheck Geriatric, obese cat. O: Limited exam due to attitude. BARH. mm=pink, moist. EENT: No oculonasal discharge. MS: Amb x 4. Obese – body condition = 5/5. Integ: Was matted over dorsum yesterday – area has been shaved and skin appears WNL. A: Obese, otherwise apparently healthy. P: Monitor while at BACC. Excellent prognosis.

10/01/16 14:59 Basic Information: Snowy is a domestic medium hair cat who was surrendered due to family members having allergies toward her. Socialization: Around strangers Snowy is friendly, outgoing and plays gently with adults. Snowy has spent time with children of all ages and is respectful of their space and doesn’t play with them. Snowy has never been around other cats so it is unknown how she will react toward them. Snowy has spent time with small dogs but is fearful of them and will hide. Behavior: Snowy has never bitten anither person or animal. Snowy will scratch on the couch and carpet, and will meow and cry when riding in a car. Snowy’s previous owner did not attempt to give her a bath or disturb her while she was sleeping so it is unknown how she will react to those events. Snowy will struggles when her owners attempt to trim her naisl and place her in a carrier. Snowy enjoys being picked up/held and being brushed. For a New Family to Know.: Snowy is descriebd as affectionate, playful, confident and quiet with a medium activity level. When at home Snowy will follow around her owner and doesn’t play with toys. Snowy was kept indoors only and was fed dry food on an open feeding schedule. Snowy is litter box traiend and used an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Snowy was not given a scratching post so it is unknown how she will react to one. Intake Behvaior: Snowy allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pixtures with no signs of aggression.

As per previous owner, Snowy is friendly, outgoing and plays gently with adults. She has spent time with children of all ages and is respectful of their space and doesn’t play with them. Snowy hasn’t been around other cats but spent time with small dogs and was fearful of them. She will scratch on the carpet and will meow and cry when riding in a car. Her previous owner describes her as affectionate, playful, confident and quiet with a medium activity level. At home she follows her owner around the house and doesn’t play with toys. Reaction to assessor: Snowy was resting on her blanket near the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Snowy lip licks then rises up and slowly approaches the front to greet the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Snowy is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Snowy sniffs the assessor’s hand and allows petting all over her body. She lightly head butts, leans in for attention and rolls on her side allowing rubs. Her body is relaxed and she tends to lip lick when touched on her back but she remains calm. Reaction to being picked up: Snowy was a bit tense when picked up but remains calm and allows all handling. Behavior Determination: Average Snowy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
