I came into the shelter as a aco impound on 27-Dec-2017.

Snow is at risk for behavior, experienced determination. Snow should go to a pet parent that will be allow Snow to acclimated at his own pace as she is more timid and doesn’t appreciate extensive handling.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: ~3yrs Microchip noted on Intake? No History : Stray Subjective: BARH Observed Behavior – Allows all handling, became tense, tried to flee, occasional low grumble but no swatting or hissing Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective P = WNL R = WNL BCS 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Mild dental tartar, pink mm PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female MSI: Ambulatory x 4, flea dirt, no masses noted, dirty hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: URI, underweight, fleas Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC. Rec doxycycline 0.7ml PO q24 x 10 days. Prognosis: Excellent SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to URI
Progress exam-recheck URI day 7 tx History : Stray intake 12/27. Started on doxycycline for URI. Subjective: BAR. Good appetite. No c/s/v/d. No ocular or nasal d/c. URI has resolved. Objective EENT: Eyes clear, no nasal discharge noted H/L: Eupneic, normal RR/RE MSI: Ambulatory x 4 CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Apparently healthy Hx URI-RESOLVED Hx underweight, fleas on intake Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC. Continue doxycycline until 1/5 Ok to move out of isolation

KNOWN HISTORY:: Snow was brought into our care center as stray so we have no previous history available.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Allows all handling, became tense, tried to flee, occasional low grumble but no swatting or hissing.
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 12/28/17 Lying in back of kennel with a low body, tail curled around feet and head lowered onto kennel floor. She allows petting along her head and body while turning her head to smell my hand, ears shifting forward. Curious – has potential to warm up.
Cage Condition:: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor:: Snow is lying on her kuranda bed, body slightly tense and ears forward as the assessor approaches.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Snow makes eye contact and remains on her kuranda bed when spoken to softly.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Snow comes forward with a low body as the cage door opens and sniffs the assessor’s hand.
Reaction to touch:: Snow allows petting along her head and body while leaning in, tail raising each time the assessor’s hand passes along her back.
Reaction to being picked up:: Snow flattens her ears and whips her head back when the assessor attempts to pick her up. Her tail is flicking up and down after the interaction has ended.
