I came into the shelter as a stray on 11-Dec-2017.

Snickers is at risk due to medical condition. Snickers came in with a swollen paw that is requiring treatment. There are no behavior concerns for Snickers at this time.

Sedate with 0.15mL dexdomitor, 0.15mL Ketamine (bottle #9), and 0.15mL Butorphanol (bottle #1) IM at 1:30 pm. Clipped and cleaned RHL, took 2 view radiographs Simbadol given at 2:00 pm, gave 0.35mL SQ bottle #43. Gave 100ml SQ LRS 1215

Swollen RH paw, r/o fx vs wound vs other 2. Underweight P -add simbadol 0.35 ml SQ SID x 3 days -sedate today for clip/clean and xrays of RH
Sedated with 0.15 ml ketamine/0.15 ml dexdomitor/0.15 ml torb SQ; shaved entire distal paw S/O -no obvious wounds along paw -edematous swelling of paw -pocket of fluid along caudal aspect of limb just cranial to tarsus; fluid appears clear/yellow and non-viscous; another pocket of this fluid along medial aspect of tarsus but pockets do not connect -no other pockets of fluid along limb -main paw pad on RF slightly ulcerated and sloughing off -radiographs of RH revealed no fractures or abnormalities of disal limb A 1. Swollen paw 2. Cystic pockets 3. Underweight 4. RF paw pad sloughing-suspect trauma over viral infection P -d/c clavamox, gave 0.3 ml convenia SQ -baytril 100 mg/ml: gave 0.3 ml IM once, continue oral suspension at 0.3 ml PO SID x 10 days -gave first dose of simbadol SQ
Progress exam Hx : presented 12/12 with possibly injury to RHL. RHL rads done 12/14 – NSF. Currently on simbadol, convenia, and baytril S/O: -Did ok overnight, no reported concerns. QAR, friendly, and allows for all medical handling. No c/s/v/d, no URI signs, normal U/BM, reportedly eating, and seems comfortable. -RH paw is swollen with pitting edema, mild discomfort on palpation -Main paw pad on RF slightly ulcerated and sloughing off -H/L: wnl, eupnic A: -Swollen/edematous RH paw r/o trauma vs other -RF paw pad sloughing – r/o trauma vs viral infxn vs other -Underweight P: -ctm in medical, reassess RH paw swelling daily -Convenia given 12/14 -cont baytril oral suspension 0.3mL PO SID x 10d, until 12/24 -cont simbadol 0.35mL SQ SID x 3d, until 12/17

Upon intake, Snickers was meowing. Snickers allowed me to carry him and place him down on the table. Snickers allowed me to collar him and pet him on the head but he would continue to meow. Snickers allowed me to carry him and put him inside his kennel. Once inside, Snickers stayed towards the back of the kennel and went to sleep.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: Resting on bedding, soft eyes and body. Started meowing on approach. Lay in place when door opened, leaned and arched into pets, purred quietly.
