06/10/17 11:37 Sneakers is a gray and white domestic shorthair. He was surrendered by his owner due to conflict with children. Owner owned a daycare which did not allow pets. Sneakers was a gift and was with his owner since he was a kitten. He has no known medical issues. Sneakers has lived with six adults and been around children of all ages. Sneakers is described as a shy fearful cat and will usually keep to himself. He tends to stay in the basement area of the home as it is a quiet space. Sneakers ignores the children in the home and will not try to engage in play. Sneakers has lived with a male cat and owner stated he was respectful and kept his distance. Sneakers has not been around dogs. Sneakers is quiet in the home and owner stated he has no behavior issues. Sneakers scratches at the microfiber couch, owner stated he was provided a wool vertical scratching post. Sneakers is litterbox trained and uses a hooded litterbox clumping. Sneakers will struggle when bathed and if his nails are trimmed. Sneakers will allow himself to be held for a few minutes before he struggles and jumps out of his owner’s arms. Sneakers is a shy, and usually stays hidden in the home. Sneakers has been kept only indoors. He is fed dry food and is fed three times a day. Sneakers has a medium activity level and likes to play with anything he finds in the home. Sneakers will play with bottle caps and hair clips. Upon intake Sneakers was tense and retreated to the back of the carrier. Sneakers was photographed and collared.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: 6 Adults and children of all ages Behavior toward strangers: Shy for a few minutes, he will come around after a little while Behavior toward children: He ignores the children in the home and will not try to engage in play. Behavior toward cats: He has lived with a male cat and owner stated he was respectful and kept his distance Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Shy and fearful with a medium activity level Other notes: He allows himself to be held for a few minutes before he struggles and jumps out of his owner’s arms. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Sweet, allows all exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 06/11/17 Lying in back of kennel with a low body, head resting against floor. He lifts his head as I reach forward and gently leans into petting along his head and body. Sweet senior car. Appreciates attention, just needs a little more time to adjust. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Sneakers was relaxed and resting peacefully at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sneakers wakes up and makes eye contact with the assessor but doesn’t come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Sneakers seems hesitant and lip licks. Reaction to touch: Sneaker’s eyes dart around and he lowers his head when the assessor extends his hand out. He closes his eyes at first and takes a few seconds before he becomes comfortable with touch. His body perks up and he leans in for petting and attention. He gains a bit of confidence and starts rolls around playfully. Reaction to being picked up: Sneakers was a bit tense when picked up, then got antsy and leaped away. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent – Sneakers may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
