Melanosis of right iris. Resting on bedding, soft eyes and body, looking around. Played with toys, came to the front to sniff hand between bars, then lay down on bedding. Leaned into pets, closed eyes, and purred.

Basic Info:
Smokie A1104335 is a 12yr old neutered blue DSH feline who was given to the owner as a gift from a neighbor 12yrs ago & is being surrendered due to the owner moving to where pets aren’t allowed and allergies. Smokie was last seen by a veterinarian in 2014 and currently has no known health issues/injuries.
Socialization:
Around strangers Smokie is friendly/outgoing. He’s spent time with young grandchildren and was gentle, relaxed, playful (when he wanted to play) & affectionate (at times) with them and the adults in the home. Smokie hasn’t been around other animals nor has he bitten/scratched any person or animal.
Behavior:
During car rides he’s relaxed. He isn’t bothered by the following: being brushed or being placed into a carrier. He hasn’t been given a bath, had his nails trimmed nor has he been disturbed while sleeping/resting. Smokie enjoys being picked up/held/pet.
For a New Family to Know:
Smokie is described as friendly, confident, affectionate/friendly, playful & talkative with a medium activity level. When the owner is home Smokie follows them around. He enjoys ball & mouse toys at times and is an indoor only cat that sleeps around the home. Smokie eats dry & wet Friskies 4x a day. He is uncovered litter box trained with clumping litter within. Smokie scratches on the walls and the mattress box springs; he doesn’t have a scratching post.
Intake Behavior:
During intake Smokie was so sweet and allowed all handling. He allowed to be scanned (-), collared and taken pictures of. Smokie didn’t seem to be picked up/held and was placed into a kennel with ease where he made himself comfy on his towel.
