**SAFE 04/18/16** FELV is a four-letter word, as is the word FATE. How does any of that relate to SISSY, a charming 11-month-old spayed sweetie on tonight’s At-Risk list? Simple. Sissy was found by her most recent owner about a month ago, and that person seems to have been willing to have kept Sissy. Sissy was spayed at the ASPCA on April 13th, which may have been when Sissy was diagnosed with FELV. Those four letters have made the difference between Sissy having a home to return to, or NOT. Rather than being taken back home to recover from her spay surgery, Sissy was brought to the ACC….and that’s where the other four-letter-word comes in. What will be Sissy’s FATE? Will she strike a chord with a foster/adopter tonight, and find a new home? Or will she be the next faceless statistic at the ACC, the next dead cat which moves the shelter a little bit farther away from their stated goal of becoming no kill? Sissy’s fate is in the hands of everyone who sees this thread right now……
