10/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sisi was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Sisi was lying down on her blanket facing the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sisi’s eyes widen and she becomes alert when spoken to softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Sisi raises her body up, looks around then lip licks. Reaction to touch: Sisi seems unsure of contact and slowly leans forward to sniff the assessor’s hand. She closes her eyes when pet then meows softly when rubbed on her head. She tolerates brief petting briefly before becoming uncomfortable and swatting at the assessor. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Sisi is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
