11/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Simon was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Simon was at the front of the kennel lying down with her tail at her side. Reaction when softly spoken to: Simon’s eyes widen then she starts stress meowing and looks around, wary of her surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Simon is alert and retreats to the back. Reaction to touch: Simon is hesitant and slowly inches away when the assessor extends his hand out. Her movements are slow, she keeps her body low and she tolerates petting briefly before moving away. She closes her eyes when touched, has a tense body and stress meows softly when rubbed on her head. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Simon tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
