Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Simba’s previous owner reports he has lived in a home with an adult, a child, another cat, and a small dog. He did not show any aggression towards any of the family members. He shared a food bowl and an open litter box with the other cat. He liked to play with yarn and scratched on furniture, but he was not provided with a scratching post. He is full of energy and spent most of his time chasing and being chased by the other cat in the home. Reaction to assessor: Simba was calm and relaxed, looking around when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Simba looks at the assessor, and then averts his gaze and blinks. Reaction to cage door opening: Simba slowly approaches the opening and sniffs the assessor. Reaction to touch: Simba head-butts, begins to purr, and leans in for cheek rubs. He is very affectionate throughout the interaction, but does seem wary of the environment. Reaction to pick up: Simba remains calm and purrs lightly. Placement Determination: Average Simba interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. He does appear cautious of the environment during his stay, so he may need time to warm up to his new home. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
