Details on my behavior are…
Behavior Condition: 4. Orange
KNOWN HISTORY:: Sicily was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home.
Cage Condition:: Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor:: Sicily was lying down in the back of the kennel with wide eyes watching the assessor.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Sicily lifts his head up to investigate, his ears perk up and he slowly inches towards the front.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Sicily pauses then retreats to the back and lip licks.
Reaction to touch:: Sicily tenses up and becomes extremely focused on the assessor’s hand when approached. He flinches slightly when touched, then lip licks and closes his eyes. After a few soft pets he gently head butts and leans in for rubs on his cheeks. He’s not completely comfortable with full body contact and will watch the assessor’s movements when touched along his back. He doesn’t display any further reaction and will nudge the assessor to guide his hand away.
ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Mellow
VOCAL:: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: : Sweet,Affectionate,Timid
POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:: None
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Experience
Behavior Asilomar: H – Healthy
RECOMMENDATIONS:: None
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Experience may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
