12/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sheedle was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Sheedle keeps her body lowered in her litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sheedle’s ears are bent flat and her eyes are focused on all the assessor’s movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Sheedle shifts around and starts lip licking. Reaction to touch: Sheedle’s eyes widen, she rises up and looks around wary of her surroundings. When the assessor extends his hand out to make contact she hisses and presses her body up against the back wall. Her body is tense, she continues to lip lick and she currently doesn’t allow any handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Sheedle is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
