SHAGGY – A1062318
Gone - 1-10-2016 Manhattan
**GONE 01/10/16** SHAGGY was wandering in an apartment building for 5 days until someone scooped her up and made the mistake of bringing her to the ACC. The 2 year old isn’t interested in interaction in the shelter–and who would blame her? So she needs a stable home to go to ASAP! She’s RATED EXPNOCHILD because of her fear and possibly because she may be intimidated by small children at this point but give her time! She should be just fine after some decompression time! Offer to FOSTER or ADOPT SHAGGY and give her the home she deserves!

01/05/16 18:06 Shaggy A1062318 was found in an apartment building in the Bronx. The finder stated that he has been wandering the building for approx. 5 days. When she arrived to get him, he was on the 10th floor, sunbathing on a windowsill. He allowed to be handled and meowed. She managed to get him inside of a carrier . He did not struggle or resist. Behavior during intake Shaggy hissed when I opened his carrier door. I scanned(-) him inside of the carrier. He came out of the carrier on his own. He retreated to the back of the kennel. No handling, due to his behavior.

01/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Shaggy looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Shaggy remains resting on her cage bedding. Reaction to touch: Shaggy accepts the stroke, but becomes agitated with the touch and swats at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Shaggy tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children. 1/9 update: Shaggy is hesitant to interact with her caretakers and cannot be moved into our adoptions room at this time. We recommend placement into a stable home environment as quickly as possible.
