***SAFE 08/27/17*** SWEET SHADOW IS AN AVERAGE RATED KITTY BUT IS FELV POSITIVE AND NEEDS A RESCUE ANGEL TONIGHT! Shadow lived with 2 large dogs and got along well with them but yet SHADOW was dumped for “no time”. He is friendly and purrs when petted. This boy is only a year old and deserves a new home of his own! MUST RESERVE THIS SUPER KITTY BY NOON!!

08/20/17 16:25 Basic Information: Shadow is a 1 year old gray tabby and white cat. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers he was friendly and outgoing. He has never been around small children so behavior is unknown. Owner also had 2 large dogs that Shadow got along with. He does not have a bite history. Behavior: He is friendly when someone brushes her coat or disturbs her while sleeping. He is afraid of being picked up and held and being put into a carrier and will try to run away. Owner has never tried to bathe he so behavior is unknown. For a New Family to Know: He is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow and quiet. He has a medium activity level and likes to play with string toys and wand toys. In the home, she liked to follow the owner around from room to room. During Intake: Shadow had a relaxed body and dilated eyes. He was resting inside the carrier. His tail was cautiously tucked between his legs.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: adults and 2 large dogs Behavior toward strangers: friendly and outgoing Behavior toward dogs: had 2 large dogs that Shadow got along with Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Other notes: described as friendly, affectionate, mellow and quiet. He has a medium activity level ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/21/17 Resting on bedding, seemed a little unsure, eyes dilated. Started forward when offered treats, then stopped and retreated again when door opened. Tolerated pets, seemed tense. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Shadow remains neutral, lying down on his cage bedding during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Shadow remains alert with soft eyes, ears erect and forward. Reaction to touch: Shadow slowly leans into the assessor’s hand, purrs, and appreciates the petting. Reaction to being picked up: he becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Shadow interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
