EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage was recently cleaned. Reaction to assessor: Seal is hiding in her den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Seal looks at assessor with wide eyes, ears flat. Reaction to cage door opening: Seal cries. Reaction to touch: Seal avoids being touched and attempts to flee cage. Reaction to being picked up: Not attempted MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Feral, did not allow handling…limited exam ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Somewhat Chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Skittish, Not Socialized RECOMMENDATIONS: _x_ Placement with a New Hope partner POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: _x_ Fearful Behavior observations _x_ New Hope Only Seal is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
