SCARLETT lived with her previous family since she was a kitten and has glowing reviews…..till we come across this cryptic statement ” Scarlett will become aggressive if her tail or body is stepped on by scratching at whoever caused her harm” ??? Seems that SCARLETT is NOT the problem here…This terrific tabby has a wonderful AVERAGE rating at the ACC and used to eat pork and shrimp treats at home. She is not yet spayed. PLEASE HELP THIS NICE CAT WHO HAS GOTTEN A BUM RAP!! It’s very long list tonight, and everyone needs to help!! 05/27/16 15:44hrs Scarlett has been cared for by her family since she was a kitten. Scarlett is described as affectionate, independent and relaxed. She lived in a home with adults only. Scarlett is affectionate with everyone in the home, allowing petting and being handled. Scarlett is the only pet in the home and has never interacted with children in the home. BEHAVIOR Scarlett enjoys resting on top of the kitchen cabinets. She will lie on the floor when it’s too warm in the home because it’s cooler. Scarlett is accustomed to grooming herself. She will hiss when her owner attempts to clip her nails. Scarlett enjoys being petted and spending time with her family lying in the bed. Scarlett will become aggressive if her tail or body is stepped on by scratching at whoever caused her harm. When people enter the home, she will hide unless she is comfortable. FOR A NEW FAMILY Scarlett likes to play with stuffed and furry toys and string. She also likes to play with plastic bags and chew on plastic hangers. Scarlett uses a covered litter box filled with Fresh Step Clumping litter. Her owner noted that she won’t use the litter box if it has a different cat litter. Scarlett would scratch the leather furniture in the home. She was provided a wooden scratching post but she wouldn’t use it. She eats Meow Mix dry food. She likes cooked turkey, shrimp and pork as small treats. She would sleep at the end of her owner’s bed.

Reaction to assessor: Scarlett looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Scarlett remains lying down in her cat den, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Scarlett walks towards the assessor’s hand and began to lean into the pets while she solicits attention. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Scarlett interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
