***GONE 07/12/16***PAIR OF “OUT OF THIS WORLD” KITTENS TRAPPED AND DUMPED IN SHELTER ARE LOOKING FOR THEIR RESCUE ANGEL TONIGHT!! MERCURY and SATURN both came in together and are both about one year old. They may be siblings but no info was left to confirm. Both of them are not sick, and only frightened at being caged in the scary shelter. Do you blame them? MERCURY is appropriately named – all she did was run when the staff tried to collar and scan her. She is quick and only afraid and received an EXPNOCHILD rating. SATURN was calm and able to be handled on intake however at her assessment she was trying to escape any touching and handling and was punished with a NEW HOPE rating – with a note she is not thriving in the shelter. Really? Tell me what cat thrives in a shelter! BOTH of these girls will be just fine once out and in a loving home. WHY NOT RESCUE BOTH MERCURY AND SATURN AND GIVE THEM A CHANCE FOR A HAPPY ENDING TO THEIR STORIES. EMAIL THE HELP DESK NOW TO GET RESCUE CONTACT INFO AT [email protected]. THESE KITTENS ARE WAITING FOR HELP AND YOU ARE THEIR ONLY CHANCE!!

07/07/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/07/16 17:56 Saturn hissed when she was scanned for a microchip but she did not move. When the other cat she was brought in with was removed from the crate, Saturn allowed to be picked up and placed in a carrier. The other cat created a tense environment so Saturn was not collared or taken out of the carrier for photos to prevent further stress.

07/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Saturn was hiding in the cat den when I approached cage When spoken quietly: Saturn continues to hide in the cat den Reaction to door cage opening: Saturn retreats Reaction to touch: Saturn tries to flee when touched Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Saturn was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment Saturn was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Saturn may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
