Hello, my name is Sasha. My animal id is #10947. I am a desexed female gray tabby cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 10 years old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 27-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- homeless.
Sasha is at risk due to being FIV positive. She has no known behavior concerns at this time.

Behavior Condition: 1. Green
Upon intake, Sasha allowed pets on the head and to be collared. Sasha was lured out of her carrier with food and was more focused on where the food was going rather than what the counselor was doing. Sasha allowed picture to be taken and allowed counselor to pick her up and put her into her cage.
Basic Information:: Sasha is a 10 year old gray and white tabby spayed cat. Sasha previously lived with owner for almost 10 years and was surrendered because the owner could no longer care for her. Sasha has no known injuries or health problems and was taken to the vet about 5 years ago.
Previously lived with:: Sasha previously lived with 2 adults.
How is this cat around strangers?: Sasha is friendly and outgoing around strangers. Sasha will first observe who ever walks through the door and will then approach, sniff and rub her body on the person’s leg.
How is this cat around children?: Sasha has been around young children ages 1, 2 and 3. Sasha is relaxed and affectionate and will allow to be pet and will rub her body on their legs.
How is this cat around other cats?: Sasha interacted with one cat a few years ago when previous owner adopted another cat. Sasha became territorial and would hiss at the other cat. Previous owner had to return the adopted cat.
How is this cat around dogs?: Sasha has not interacted with dogs and owner is unaware of how she would respond.
Behavior Notes: During car rides, Sasha is either sleeping or relaxed. Previous owner has never given Sasha a bath but has tried to trim her nails. Sasha pulls her paw away quickly when previous owner tried to trim her nails. Sasha enjoys having her coat brushed and is not bother when being picked up but will leave after a few mintues. Sasha is afraid when going into a carrier and will freeze. Previous owner has never tried to disturb Sasha while she is sleeping and is unaware of how she would react.
