10/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sammy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Sammy was curled up in the back and was resting her head on the litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sammy’s ears perk up and she turns her head to make eye contact but doesn’t come forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Sammy remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sammy lowers her body then leans her head back when the assessor extends his hand out. She hisses, looks around wary of her surroundings then shifts away trying to avoid contact. Her body is tense when touched and she slowly makes her way to the front looking for an exit. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sammy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
