SAMANTHA – A1088090
Gone - 9-17-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 09/17/16*** SAMANTHA HAS BEEN DONE DIRTY!!!! DUMPED by owner, of only a month, because she’s sick and didn’t get along with the owners dog!! This would be the point where one may say that the owner was awful for bringing the cat to the ACC…. BUT IT DIDN’T START THERE!! How SAMANTHA’S previous owner treated her before she was DUMPED was just as bad. This 4 year old had been bleeding vaginally, and this owner NEVER brought her to a vet! The folks at the ACC suspect a URI or hematuria, but please, let your vet examine her, then he can say with certainty what’s really going on. Meanwhile, she’s earned a terrific, AVERAGE RATING! Please, take SAMANTHA, GET HER WELL!!! And make sure she’s never treated this way again!

She has lived with a medium sized dog and would hiss at the dog. The owner reports she hides in fear and will hiss when approached. The owner described her as assertive, shy, and fearful with a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Samantha was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Samantha looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Samantha remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Samantha lifts her rear and her tail starts to quiver. She meows softly, head-butts lightly, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Samantha remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Samantha interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Because her previous owner reports she displayed fearful behaviors in her previous home, she may need time to warm up to her new home. She has displayed social and friendly behaviors during her stay in the care center, so we believe this cat is appropriate for cat parents with an average amount of experience.
