SAMANTHA – A1081920
Gone - 7-22-2016 Brooklyn
*** GONE 07/22/16 *** SICKENING! The ACC doesn’t know how old SAMANTHA is, but even they aren’t able to overlook the ULCERATED MAMMARY TUMOR this poor girl has! Speaking of which, that’s why the people who were GIFTED Samantha a couple years back, decided to take her to the ACC—-they KNEW she had that tumor, they had never taken her to a vet, and they weren’t about to start on July 19th. SAMANTHA is NOT HAPPY about being the rock bottom priority of everyone’s list, she is NOT HAPPY about having been dumped at the shelter, and she is probably NOT HAPPY about her undercarriage being bloody and painful. This precious girl needs to be pulled by a NEW HOPE rescue, who will foot the bill for any reasonable vet expenses IF someone reliable is willing to foster/adopt her. Please make sure SAMANTHA gets what she needs—advocate extensively for SAMANTHA tonight!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Samantha’s previous owner reports she has lived with two adults and two children. She is tolerant towards everyone in the home and is overall friendly with everyone she is around. She is very affectionate and is a relaxed cat, but doesn’t like to be picked up and held too much. She is tolerant of rough play because of the children, but her favorite activity is sleeping on the window sill. Reaction to assessor: Samantha becomes tense and looks at the assessor when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Samantha whines and starts to growl. Reaction to cage door opening: Samantha becomes stiff and alert, cautious of the opening. Reaction to touch: Samantha meows and growls louder as the assessor’s hand extends towards her, but sticks her head forward to sniff. She accepts brief touch on her head, but hisses and strikes afterwards. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Samantha is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, bite, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
