08/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Salem was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Salem was curled up at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Salem inches away and starts to lip lick when spoken to softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Salem remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Salem was hesitant at first, leaning away as the assessor extended his arm out to make contact. He warms up when pet, gets up and slowly approaches the front seeking attention. His body is a bit tense but he seems to appreciate contact and will give light head butts. Reaction to being picked up: Salem was very tense then slowly relaxed and didn’t mind being held. Behavior Determination: Experience Salem may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
