***GONE 09/20/16***GORGEOUS AND SWEET SABRINA NEEDS NEW FRIEND! Sabrina is a beautiful, kind but sad two year old Russian Blue type gal who sadly lost her home because she did not get along with a child in the household. Sabrina lived with her family since she was two years old. If you look at her notes, it says she is gentle and gets along well with kids of all ages so we are not sure what the problem is exactly!!! It says she “attacked people” but then noted how well she got along with everyone. Sad sigh!!! Sabrina is yet another healthy, faithful feline friend betrayed by her owners when they got tired of her or could no longer be bothered to take care of her. Please offer this fine feline a new “leash” on life by offering to foster or adopt. Sabrina may need some time to decompress from her stressful shelter experience so she needs a kind and patient purrson to be her hero. 09/15/16 12:26 Basic Information: Sabrina is a 2 year old female. She was given to her previous owner as a gift when she was 2 weeks old. She was surrendered because of child conflict. She has never been to the vet and has no known injuries or health problems. Socialization: Around strangers Sabrina is fearful, she hides. When she plays with adults she is gentle. She lived with children ages 0 to 14. With them she was very tolerant. Behavior: Sabrina has bitten a person once but did not draw blood. She has not bitten an animal. She struggles if her coat is brushed, if she is picked up or placed in carrier. She isn’t bothered if she is disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Sabrina is described as affectionate, playful, shy, independent and quiet with a low activity level. When her previous owner was home she would tend to follow her around. She was not given toys. She was kept indoors only and at night she slept under her previous owner’s bed. She ate dry Purina and is litter box trained. She used an uncovered litter box and clumping cat litter. She did not have a scratching post but did scratch on carpet. Behavior during intake: Sabrina had a low crouched body. She allowed me to pet her and collar her and went in and out of her carrier easily. She showed no signs of aggression.

As per previous owner, Sabrina is fearful and she hides when she is around strangers. When she plays with adults she is gentle. She lived with children ages 0 to 14. With them she was very tolerant. Sabrina has bitten a person once but did not draw blood. She has not bitten an animal. She struggles if her coat is brushed, if she is picked up or placed in carrier. She isn’t bothered if she is disturbed while sleeping. Reaction to assessor: Sabrina does not come to the front, but remains neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sabrina does not come to the front, but remains neutral. Reaction to cage door opening: Sabrina becomes stiff and alert, and tail flicks. Reaction to touch: Sabrina moves away to avoid being touched, then nips at the assessor’s hand when pet. Behavior Determination: Experienced, no children. Sabrina tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
