Sabrina’s previous owner reports she is a very friendly and sweet cat. She is friendly with strangers and has been around children. She plays exuberantly with them. She likes to tap the owner’s leg with her paw, and run away so the owner can chase her. She plays well with other cats, but has not been around dogs. She isn’t bothered when held, placed in a carrier, pet, or by car rides. She was best described as friendly, affectionate, playful, and independent. She follows the owner around the home. Reaction to assessor: Sabrina was hiding and was wrapped inside a blanket like a burrito. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sabrina does not respond. Reaction to cage door opening: Sabrina remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sabrina is very tense, but remains immobile when touched. When the assessor attempts to lift the blanket to uncover her, she attempts to curl up into the blanket further and starts to grumble. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sabrina tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
