11/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
RZA was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home. He lived in a home with many cats. He was fearful during his initial medical exam, and only allowed the medical team to conduct a limited examination. Please note that RZA is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Reaction to assessor: RZA was lying down by the front, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: RZA looks at the assessor with soft eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: RZA becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: RZA was hesitant of touch and shifts away in an attempt to avoid contact. He sniffs the assessor’s hand, but focuses on it. He will allow touch with a really slow approach, but remains tense and appears uncomfortable. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children RZA tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
