RUBY – A1062639

*GONE 01/14/16***RUBY IS A SWEET DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH! Meet one year old grey and white cutie, Ruby who was found in a backyard and dumped at the kill happy shelter. Please don’t look past Ruby–a shy, kind and gentle little girl who obviously spent some time on the street. She has a couple of scrapes and may need a little cleaning up but nothing that a little TLC won’t cure. She tolerates handling but may do best in a quiet home without kids. Ruby’s only real “illness” is that she is homeless and doesn’t deserve the ACC’s “cure”—a lethal injection when noon rolls around. Please advocate for this precious pet and save her life by offering to foster or adopt. Transportation is available by contacting one of our New Hope partners. Email our help desk for assistance. Remember that even if you can only offer temporary safe haven by fostering, let us know and we will lead you through the process. Let’s help create a happy ending for this sweet diamond in the rough. All she needs to sparkle is someone to offer her a chance—be that kind purrson. Make the call for Ruby NOW!!!

01/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Ruby looks frightened in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Ruby remains hiding in the cat den, alert with eyes wandering. Reaction to touch: Ruby accepts a stroke, but panics in place and attempts to escape the cage. Placement determination: Experience / no child Ruby tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children. Additional notes: Ruby appears overwhelmed by the shelter environment and avoids interaction. It is in her best interest to move into a stable home environment as quickly as possible.
