Rosa is used to being around kids, solicits attention from everyone and would make a purrffect companion to just about anyone. 09/12/16 11:52 BASIC INFO Rosa is a 6 year old spayed DSH cat. She lived in a bodega. The bodega closed 1.5 weeks ago and the owners gave her to a neighbor that she knew. He is unable to keep her. Rosa is declawed in the front. SOCIALIZATION Rosa is friendly/outgoing with new people. She approaches adults and children in the store and solicited attention. She is relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with children and plays gently with people. She stayed with a female cat the past 10 days. They were relaxed and respectful of each other. They slept near each other on the bed and couch. Rosa has likely been around dogs as customers of the store regularly brought their dogs inside. Rosa hasn’t bit/scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Rosa is relaxed in the car. She enjoys being brushed. She doesn’t mind being picked up, held, put in a carrier, or woken up. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Rosa’s owner describes her as friendly, affectionate, mellow, talkative, and medium energy. She follows him and naps in his lap, purring very loudly. She played with balls. She lived inside and slept on the couch or bed. She ate wet Science Diet food in the morning and dry Science Diet food at night. Rosa is littertrained, used a hooded litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. INTAKE Rosa was a little tense and looked around and was tolerant while I pet her, scanned her (-), collared her, photographed her, and put her in a carrier. She didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.

Reaction to assessor: Rosa looks shy, crouched position on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Rosa slowly retreats to the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Rosa began to lean into the assessor’s hand then rolls over in place after she warmed up to the petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Rosa interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
