ENRICHMENT NOTES:
06/17/18
Sleeping, but wakes and blinks and lip licks when coaxed. Sniffs hand and was a bit hesitant, but accepts petting and warms up; leaning in and purring. Eats all treats offered, doing well.Â
06/21/18
Curled up by the front of cubby, but sits upright and wraps tail around body when door opens. Hesitant, but leans in and arches body when pet. Prefers to stay in cubby, but was able to coax out to main kennel space with treats. Retreats back to cubby when overwhelmed. Timid, but sweet cat.
06/22/18
Lying down near the front of the cubby, resting his head on the portal door. Perks up when I approach, lip licks. Leans away and looks around at surroundings. Warms up to touch. Scent marks and rubs against cage furnishings. Slowly comes forward when coaxed with treats. Doing well!
Cage Condition:
Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor:
Rocket was lying down in his litter box, at the back of the cubby.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Rocket slow blinks, then shifts his body weight and leans away.
Reaction to cage door opening:
Rocket lip licks and becomes alert.
Reaction to touch:
Rocket seems unsure of his surroundings, but slowly leans forward and sniffs the assessor when approached. He accepts petting and leans in when rubbed on his cheeks, but slowly turns his head and follows the assessor’s hand when pet along his back. His tail thumps and he places his mouth on his hand after a few soft passes along his body. After a few minutes of attention he approaches the front of the kennel, starts purring and gives gentle head butts.
