***SAFE 06/13/17 *** Meet Ritz: Ritz is a self-sufficient cat that needs a family with the patience necessary to understand her habits and patterns. She is still a young cat and with the right amount of TLC she can have a great life. Let’s help find this girl a home!
RITZ AND 4 OTHER CATS WERE TAKEN FROM A COLONY LIVING IN A BOILER ROOM – SHE HAS SOME PATCHES OF ALOPECIA AND ALSO NEEDS SOME DENTAL ATTENTION.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Steady VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish, Independent MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 6/5/17- Observed Behavior – very nervous, will flee ENRICHMENT NOTES: 6/6/17- Crouched at back, eyes wide, alert. Eyes became further dilated when door opened. Moved quickly around kennel to avoid pets, body held low, no vocalizing. Came to the front after door closed, looked around. Slow blinking? 6/7/17- Crouched next to den, low body, alert. Eyes became fully dilated when door opened. Stood and moved quickly to other kennel when attempted touch. Initially crouched low on bedding, then stood and pressed against back wall. Froze when touched. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Ritz remains, crouched position hiding in cat den during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Ritz distance increases, remains alert with eyes dilated, starring with a tense body. Reaction to touch: Ritz allows the touch while her head turns away and remains immobile. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Ritz may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
