Medical Summary Sex: Female Scan: Estimated age: 1 year based on overall size Fleas: Moderate amount of flea dirt. Hx: Found in a trash can S: Alert, mews, trying to walk even though front legs are broken, allows all handling and vaccines O: BAR-H, BCS 4.5/9, MMs pink and moist. Shivering. EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Clean teeth. PLNs: Not enlarged. H/L: Tachycardia, NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated M/S/I: Both front legs have closed fractures near the carpus, with increased laxity and crepitus. Fur is soaking wet with fetid brown liquid UG: Female A: 1. Both front legs are broken near the carpus 2. Covered in fetid brown liquid Short-term prognosis: Fair with surgical repair of front leg fractures, guarded without Current spay status: Temporary waiver for fractures. P: 1. Administered Activyl for cats 2-9 lbs and pyrantel 0.7 ml PO during exam 2. Administered meloxicam (5 mg/ml) 0.18 ml SQ during exam 3. Start buprenorphine 0.3 mg/ml 0.2 ml SQ BID x10 days 4. Recommend sedated bandage placement of both front legs tomorrow, with surgical stabilization as soon as possible 1088
