This cutie is laying quietly on a blanket until someone comes to visit. Then he comes over and gives the visitor’s hand a sniff, decides he passes the test, and rubs up against the visitor! He meows softly to say hi and appreciates attention!! This guy would make a wonderful pet in a beginner or any pet home! If he’s not rescued ASAP, this sweetheart will be sadly killed at the shelter. Riki was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Riki was relaxed on his blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Riki comes forward slowly with his tail to greet the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Riki is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Riki sniffs the assessor’s hand than allows petting all over and rubs up for attention. He meows softly with her tail up and appreciates attention. Reaction to being picked up: Riki was a bit tense on pick up but remains calm and relaxed when held. Behavior Determination: Average Riki interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
