Crouched in top cubby, facing forward, soft eyes but alert. Meowed when door opened, sniffed hand repeatedly, then started eating offered treats. Tolerated a few pets, then hissed. Easily lured out to shelf with more treats, then returned to cubby. Very food motivated, but needs time to acclimate.

Remus remains neutral, sitting upright by the front during the approach.

Remus becomes alert with soft eyes, normal shape pupils.

Remus shows interest, stands with tail up, relaxed ears and forward attempting to explore outside the cage.

Remus head rubs and body leans into the assessor’s hand, appreciating the petting.
Reaction to being picked up:
He briefly allows the pickup then energetically jumps back into the cage.

Remus is a 7 year old, neutered, domestic shorthair cat. Previous owner got Remus from a friend 6 years ago. Remus does have urinary issues and is on a special diet. HE was last at the vet in January of 2017.

Remus likes to scratch on cloth furniture. He will meow during car rides but calm down after a few minutes. He has never gotten a bath and will allow nail trims. He enjoys being brushed and isn’t bothered when picked up or disturbed while sleeping. He may struggle to be put into carrier.

Remus is described as a friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, assertive, talkative cat. He has a medium energy level. He enjoys drinking from the tap water in the sink and will lay inside the sink. He will be in a favorite spot or rarely seek attention when you are home. He enjoys string, catnip and laser pointer toys. He loves to play with hair ties. He is indoors only and sleeps with owner .He eats proplan urinary 2 times a day and loves greenies for teats. He is litter box trained and uses a covered litter box with clumping litter and has a cloth covered scratching post.

Remus was curious of surroundings and came out of carrier willingly. allowed counselor to pet, collar and take picture. he went back inside carrier willingly.
