Observed Behavior – Growling, allows some handling but tries to escape, appears very stressed. Yowls with blood draw and urinates when perianal region is shaved.

BAR-H, MMs pink, BCS 8/9
EENT: Mild chemosis OS, moist nasal discharge. Moderate black granular discharge AU.
Oral Exam: Mild tartar
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Slightly tense, not distended, no masses palpated
U/G: Male neutered
MSI: Matted fur on dorsum and flanks. Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted.
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: Normal externally
Assessment:

4. Suspected ear mites
Prognosis: Good
Plan:
1. Fortiflora SID x7 days
2. Vitamin B12 injection
3. Groom coat
4. Clean ears and treat with Tresaderm AU BID x10 days
