11/17/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rainey was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Rainey was hiding behind his bogus paper with his body pressed up against the wall. Reaction when softly spoken to: Rainey keeps his body lowered, turns towards the assessor then stress meows. He continues meow when spoken to softly and looks around wary of his surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Rainey remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Rainey’s eyes widen and his ears bend flat when the assessor approaches. He leans away when close, continues to stress meow and quickly looks around for an exit. His body is tense, he slowly shifts away and currently allows limited contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Rainey is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
