Re-exam left front paw abscess
History : Stray intake 9/9 with LFL abscess and conjunctivitis os
Subjective:
Observed Behavior – BARH. Allows all handling, excellent appetite
Objective
P = WNL R = WNL BCS 3/9
EENT: Eyes clear, mild conjunctivitis OS with small abrasion below eye, ears have moderate brown waxy debris, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: Teeth clean, pink mm, no oral ulcers
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: MI
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat – significant swelling of LF paw with small wound at dorsal aspect between digits 3-4 – copious amount of purulent discharge expressed
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities

Continue simbadol 0.12ml SQ SID
Start clavamox 13.75mg/kg PO BID x14d
Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x10d
Start BID foot soaks with chlorhex
Start erythromycin ou bid x10d

Plan: simbadol 0.12ml SQ given by LVT. Expressed all discharge from paw, cleaned with nolvasan. Rec doxycycline 0.15ml PO q24 x 10 days and clavamox 0.15ml PO q12 x 10 days. Erythromycin OU q12 x 10 days. simbadol 0.08ml sq q24 x 3 dyas
Prognosis: Good
