QUARK – A1074514

***SAFE 05/26/16*** SPAYED KITTEN! Even though her shelter intake note says QUARK is a “stray,” this girl and her BFF, Thesis, are both spayed and both in excellent health….so they probably only “strayed” the length of the ACC lobby. That’s right, all an owner needs to do is say “I don’t know these cats” when surrendering animals to the ACC, and the shelter won’t charge them the surrender fee. Now, there is no way to know if that’s exactly what happened here, but QUARK does look and act a LOT more like someone’s pet, than a true stray cat. This 12-month-old KITTEN is clearly boggled by the nightmare that is the ACC, but she still earned a totally respectable EXPNOCHILD rating! Her hopes and dreams die with her at NOON tomorrow, unless a foster/adopter is found for her tonight!

05/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Quark appears uncomforable as she watches the assessor from the back of the cage When spoken quietly: Quark continues to watch the assessor Reaction to door cage opening: Quark remains motionless Reaction to touch: Quark allows petting but is tense and is noticeably uncomfortable Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Quark was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
