***SAFE 10/24/16*** PULPO IS BEGGING TO GET OUT OF THE ACC ALIVE! CAN YOU HELP HER?? PULPO – which means OCTOPUS in Spanish, is a very pretty tuxie girl with a terrible photo and awful name! PULPO is afraid – because she was trapped, caged, and all she is doing is trying to get away. The ACC will escort this lady out tomorrow – but it may not be alive. PULPO may be a lost or abandoned pet. She is New Hope rated because she is afraid and cowered in her cage and avoided contact. She will need a cat whisperer to give her the confidence to come out of her shell. Sadly we only have until 12 noon to find PULPO a rescue angel. These cats deserve a chance to live and if your heart is breaking for poor PULPO, please email the help desk at [email protected] for rescue contact info now!

10/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pulpo was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Pulpo was curled up in the back of the kennel with his cheeks pressed up against the wall. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pulpo has wide eyes focuses on all movements and starts to lip. Reaction to cage door opening: Pulpo slowly turns her head and looks around for an exit. Reaction to touch: Pulpo’s ears flatten when you approach her then she hisses and swats allowing no contact. She shifts away from contact and starts to growl with her head lowered and her tail at her side. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Pulpo is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
