SAFE 7/31/17 Poor, sweet 14 week old Kitten, Princess, has a fractured limb and just needs some extra TLC @MACC. Princess is a 4 month old kitten who was brought in by owner for “child conflict”. Princess left front leg is swollen and she is not putting any weight on it. Needs x-rays to determine if fractured.

Medical Summary DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 14 weeks History : owner surrender; injured left forelimb; owner took to a vet and Princess was prescribed oral meloxicam; last given this morning at 9 AM Subjective: Observed Behavior – friendly Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: deciduous teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: FS MSI: Skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat, mostly non-weight bearing on left forelimb but intermittently touches down, mildly swollen at antebrachium and painful CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment left forelimb lameness- R/O fracture vs soft tissue injury vs other Plan Prognosis: fair Recommend transfer for radiographs and treatment as indicated discontinue oral meloxicam start buprenorphine 0.03 mg sublingual q12 hrs

alerted NH as to p status
unable to find radiograph that was taken determining radial fx in R FL- will sedate with dexdomitor 0.5mg/ml: 0.02ml plus torb 10mg/ml: 0.02ml IM, take two view rads and apply splint
***out of stock for buprenorphine; since taking sedated rads this AM and appears that has gotten simbadol at 6am today (see observation), will remove buprenorphine from tx’s and con’t simbadol 1.8mg/ml: 0.2ml SQ SID x3 more days starting 7/30/17 AM

Later in the day received a single radiograph from vet showing a distal radius fracture
recommend 2 view radiographs and placing splint with sedation
