08/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Princess is shy when around strangers and has never been introduced to another cat or dog. She has spent time with an 8 year old child and was fearful and would normally stay hidden. When provoked and when she doesn’t want to be touched she will scratch. Her owners describe her as being quiet with a medium activity level. She enjoys running or playing with toys like balls, catnip, and string. Princess used a vertical scratching post made of fabric. Reaction to assessor: Princess was curled up in the litter box at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Princess’s ears rotate and she becomes alert. She keeps her tail curled up at she side and she looks at the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Princess remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Princess leans away when you approach her and allows petting with a slow approach. She sniffs the assessor’s hand, slowly rubs up and occasionally lip licks throughout the interaction. After a few soft passes she rises up and looks around wary of her surroundings. Reaction to being picked up: Princess is very tense when held and continues to lip lick. Behavior Determination: Experience Princess may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
