Princess is a 6 year old white and brown tabby cat. The owner adopted her over a year ago and is surrendering due to her litter box accidents.

Princess lived with a 5 year old and a toddler. She was very friendly, respectful, and tolerant of their handling.

Princess enjoys being petted and held. She is not bothered by having her nails trimmed or being brushed out. She is described as a friendly, affectionate, and mellow. She mostly enjoys being on the window or balcony bird watching. She plays a lot with laser toys. She was kept indoors only. She was fed Meow Mix dry food. She was provided with multiple open litter boxes with Arm and Hammer clumping clay.

Princess was extremely friendly and allowed to be handled. She kept a very loose body and would flop over when approached and petted.

Princess leans forward to investigate, then lip licks and moves towards the back of the cage.

Princess lip licks and shrinks her body.

Princess sniffs the assessor, then gentle nudges his hand and leans in when rubbed on her cheeks. She gives head butts, raises her rear when rubbed along her back and appreciates attention.

Princess was a bit tense when picked up, but she remains calm and allows all handling.

Princess’s previous owners report that she was eliminating (urinating) outside the litter box for over a year. We are unaware of what, if any, modifications steps were taken to try and address this behavior in the home, so we cannot be sure what the trigger may have been or if this behavior may continue in a future home. However, we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litter box should this behavior continue in a home environment.
