History : brought in by daughter of owner; stated owner was unable to care for her any longer Subjective: BAR Observed Behavior – interactive, head butts in cage; hisses when picked up but allows handling Evidence of Cruelty seen – none Evidence of Trauma seen – none Objective BCS 5/9 EENT: OS-mild serous discharge at medial canthus nose/ears clean possible thyroid slip Oral Exam: mm pk, moist; CRT <2 sec; many teeth missing/previously extracted including both upper canines; lower canines causing irritation on buccal surface of upper gingiva PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: female; reportedly spayed; fatty/lymphatic tissue palpable around caudal mammary glands but no obvious MGT MSI: ambulatory x 4 with no obvious orthopedic disease slightly unthrifty hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment Dental disease Poss thyroid slip-r/o hyperthyroid vs other Geriatric Plan Rec’d CBC/chem/T4 Rec’d dental prophylaxis with likely extractions Prognosis: good SURGERY: spayed
