BASIC INFORMATION: Poe is an 8 yr old, neutered male. Poe was adopted 8 yrs ago and has no known health issues. Poe was last seen by a vet 1 yr ago and was surrendered to ACC due to owner moving to a residence that does not allow pets.
SOCIALIZATION: Poe is friendly and outgoing with strangers. Poe has resided with children and gets along well with them. Poe plays gently with adults and children. Poe has not resided or been exposed to other animals. Poe does not have a bite history.
BEHAVIOR: Poe meows in car rides but otherwise is relaxed. Poe allows the owner to trim his nails and brush his coat. Poe allows the owner to pick him up and hold him. He is unbothered when disturbed while sleeping.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Poe is best described as a friendly, affectionate & playful cat. Poe has a medium to low activity level. Poe enjoys lounging around and sun bathing by the window. When the owner comes home, Poe will follow the owner around the home. Poe has been kept indoors only. Poe sleeps on his cat bed and enjoys eating dry food, from brand Friskies & enjoys treats from brand Temptations. Poe is litter box trained and uses a hooded litter box, with clay litter. Poe uses a scratching post made out of rough rope and carpet. Owner stated Poe may scratch on wooden furniture if he does not have a scratching post.
BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: Upon intake, Poe displayed a relaxed body and was purring upon intake. Poe allowed all handling and scanned positive.
ENRICHMENT:

At front of kennel as I approach, head-butting kennel door. He remains in the front as I open the kennel door and allows all petting along head and body with his tail raised, leaning in with soft eyes. He rolls over onto his side with continued petting. Very affectionate and social. Stubby! Doing great!

ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: neutered male
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat. Embeneded nail in each fore limb.
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
