SAFE 7/19/18 Pluto is a 9 year old friendly cat, who lived with the owner since he was a 2 month old kitten. The owner got evicted and is unable to keep. The cat isn’t neutered, and hasn’t been to a vet for awhile. A volunteer writes: Pluto is a dear fellow who loves a massage especially on his head and his cute big cheeks. He is friendly and just adorable. He is so sweet it will just melt your heart. I think he will be a terrific companion.

Friendly and well behaved during PE and med handling.

Tense body, crouched inside his litter box. Shrinks body when I extend my hand out. Seems very uncomfortable, but tolerates slow, gentle petting on his head and body. Not interested in tuna. Lowers head and tries to avoid further contact. Needs more time to adjust.

Pluto was tense and hunched over his litter box, watching the assessor with wide eyes.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Pluto lip licks, and maintains eye contact.
Reaction to cage door opening:
Pluto remains motionless.
Reaction to touch:
Pluto squints when approached, and shrinks his body when touched on his head. He lip licks and seems uncomfortable, but tolerates slow gentle petting along his back. He keeps his tail lowered and slowly moves away to the other side of the cage when he’s done interacting.
