Staten Island Center
Hello, my name is Pikachu. My animal id is #11617. I am a desexed male gray cat at the Staten Island Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 03-Nov-2017.
Pikachu is at risk for behavior challenges (New Hope Only determination). She has allowed minimal handling the care center and will display distance-increasing behaviors to avoid touch. There are no known medical concerns.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…

Reaction to touch:: Pikachu did not allow any petting by the fake assessor hand. He hisses and swats when hand reaches in to attempt petting him.

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: Pikachu is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, scratch is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
