06/27/2017 WEB MEMO
Despite having an injury when he came in, Picasso was alert and friendly with the rescue officer who came for him, and the intake staff member who received him. The vet who examined him noted that he was sweet and allowed all handling, while the behavior assessor described him as “relentlessly friendly.” He head-butts hands, leans enthusiastically into petting, purrs, and “almost fell out of cage from enthusiasm.” In his happiness to be in human company, he has rolled over all the way when spoken to, and he tends to extend his neck for scratches, eyes closed. His injury is slowly healing, but his spirit was never broken. Picasso is not only a cute and adorable cat to dote on, but an inspiration as well–a reminder that no matter what our condition, there is always a reason to love.
