11/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Phi was brought in without information on her behavioral tendencies her previous home environment. She lived with lots of other cats and appeared well during intake. She was tense and nervous during her initial medical exam, but allowed all handling to be conducted. Reaction to assessor: Phi was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Phi looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes, but averts her gaze after. Reaction to cage door opening: Phi becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Phi hisses and looks away from the assessor, turning her head to face the side and back wall. She tolerates petting on her head and body, but lowers her body and slowly shifts away. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Phi tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
